Nicolas Maduro: An Open Letter to the People of the United States

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro calls on U.S. society to denounce its government’s threats of war. “Today Venezuela is united in a single clamor: we demand the end of aggression that seeks to suffocate our economy and socially suffocate our people, as well as the end of serious and dangerous threats of military intervention against Venezuela. We appeal to the good soul of U.S. society, a victim of its own leaders, to join our call for peace, let us be all one people against warmongering and war.”

Cuba celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the entry of Fidel and the Rebel Army into Havana with a Freedom Caravan featuring combatants who participated in that triumph. Gloria La Riva was there and interviewed some of the participants.

U.S. Diplomats Under Attack? “First, it was sonic weapons, now microwave. What’s next, kryptonite?”

U.S. government officials and media have repeatedly used the word “attacks” to describe symptoms experienced by some of its employees at its Embassy in Havana. To date there is no evidence to support the use of that term. There is no clear evidence that anything even happened to those employees, much less how it happened or who was responsible. The entire affair has been used as a provocation to justify the rupture of U.S.-Cuba relations.
