NYC Rally 10/20: End the U.S. Blockade of Cuba, Stop U.S. Aggression against Venezuela!
Saturday, October 20, 2:00 PM
Ralph Bunche Park, 1st Ave. between 42nd and 43rd, New York City
Last year the U.N. General Assembly voted 191 member states to 2, to call on the U.S. to end its economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba. The United States and Israel were the only countries to vote against Cuba. Yet, despite world opinion, the blockade continues, now in its 56th year, costing the island more than many billions of dollars in economic damage, and imposing untold hardship on the Cuban people.
On Oct. 31, 2018, the U.N. will again vote on the resolution to lift the blockade of Cuba. Stand with us outside the U.N. on Saturday October 20, 2:00 PM, in solidarity with Cuba. Let’s show the peoples of the world that the U.S. policy does not represent the people of our country.
The U.S. has also imposed heavy sanctions on Venezuela’s commercial and banking transactions, creating major disruptions in the life of the Venezuelan people. Trump and other offi cials are openly inviting military action against President Maduro’s government. These actions are in complete violation of international law.
It is time for U.S. aggression toward Cuba, Venezuela and all Latin America and the Caribbean to end, and for their independence and sovereignty to be fully respected.
